There are so many things to do here in Fairbanks, both Summer and Winter! The Minnie Street B & B Inn and INN-spa is in a wonderful, centrally located area. From here it is either a short walk or a few minutes drive to most of the attractions listed below. Maps are available. Here is a partial list of activities and attractions.

Many people ask us what is a good time to come to Fairbanks to take advantage of winter activities. Our best resource to answer that would be the Fairbanks Convention and Visitors Bureau (FCVB) web site for both a winter and summer guide at: http://www.explorefairbanks.com/
Click here for Winter Carnival, here for Ice Sculpting, and here for Dog Sled Race information.
As a suggestion though, we recommend coming in March for the great variety of things available to do at that time of year. Plus… it’s not so cold that you won’t want to get out and do some of these things, like seeing the northern lights!
One thing to remember is that the Fairbanks area is very dry with low humidity, especially in the winter. But what this means is with layering you can stay warm and dry in winter activities. Whether you are snow machining, dog sledding or skiing, even at -20 degrees below zero you can stay comfortable. Your nose hairs will freeze…but you can stay warm!
